ITEM 1 Chairman Majikes called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. He began by thanking the Committee for all of their thoughts and prayers with the recent passing of his brother.

ITEM 2 Chairman Majikes began the meeting by thanking the Committee for all of their thoughts and prayers with the recent passing of his brother.
ITEM 3 Frank Victor, District II Treasurer, presented the Treasurer’s Report as of the close of the 2013-2014 fiscal year on June 30,2014. As of that date the district has a balance of $217,951.12. Our total Certificates of Deposit are $12,585.09 and the Total Savings and Checking Accounts are $205,366.03. The District began the 2013-2014 fiscal year with a balance of $182,926.56, finishing the fiscal year with a net increase of $35,024.56.
During the report, Frank Victor also distributed and discussed the payment rates for services rendered to the District for district playoffs. This included a copy of the officials’ fees for the various sports as well as a payment schedule for site workers for 2014-2015.
Finally, the report concluded with a summary of the distribution of Unrestricted Revenues during the previous year and Unrestricted Expenses during the previous year. The total of unrestricted revenues was $351,429.14. Frank broke the revenue report down by sport with the largest revenues in Basketball ($129,890) and Football ($118,357). The total of unrestricted expenses was $316,404.58 again broken down by sport. The largest expenses were in Basketball ($67,358.68) and Football ($24,173.52). The report also reflected a total of $54,439 in expenses in the return of distributions to member schools in the sports of basketball and football.

ITEM 4SPORTS REPORTS

· Cheerleading (Chris Gegaris): Cheerleading Chairperson Chris Gegaris informed the committee that the date for this year’s District Competitive Cheer Championships is set for Sunday, November 16th at Hazleton Area High School at 10 a.m.. Chris will provide more information to member schools as the date approaches.
· Cross Country (Bill King): Cross Country Chairperson Bill King reviewed the Cross Country Championship format with the Committee. A motion was made by Maureen Williams, seconded by Chad Vinansky, to approve the format as reviewed. All Ayes. The format will be distributed to the Athletic Directors and placed on the webpage.
· Field Hockey (Chris Gegaris): Field Hockey Chairperson Chris Gegaris updated the committee on the projected format for this year’s Field Hockey Championships. He will now put the format together for distribution to member schools. A motion was made by Bill Schoen, seconded by Danielle Adams, to approve the format as discussed. All Ayes. Chris will present the final format to the officers for final approval and it will then be posted on the webpage and sent to the Athletic Directors.
· Football (Mike Ognosky): Football Chairperson Mike Ognosky distributed the current standings as well as the format and procedures for this year’s championships. A motion was made by Chris Thomas, seconded by Fred Barletta, to approve the format as presented. All Ayes. The format will be sent to the Athletic Directors and is on the webpage.
· Golf (Joe Farrell): Golf Chairperson Joe Farrell announced that all is ready for the upcoming championships. The format was reviewed by the officers and has already been sent to the Athletic Directors and is on the webpage. A motion was made by Al Holtzer, seconded by Chris Gegaris, to approve the format as distributed.All Ayes
· Soccer (Al Holtzer): Soccer Chairperson Al Holtzer distributed the format for both the boys’ and girls’ championships. Following the review of those formats, a motion was made by Pat Patte, seconded by Bill Schoen, to approve it for distribution to the Athletic Directors and to place it on the webpage. All Ayes
· Girls Tennis (Pat Sheehan): TheGirls’ Tennis championship format has already been sent out to the member schools. It was reviewed by the officers prior to the distribution to member schools. The format has been distributed to the Athletic Directors and is posted on the website. A motion was made by Vito Quaglia, seconded by Joe Farrell, to approve the format as distributed. All Ayes
· Girls’ Volleyball (Maureen Williams): Maureen Williams, District Volleyball Chairperson, distributed and reviewed the format for the upcoming Girls’ Volleyball Championships. A motion was made by Chad Vinansky, seconded by Chris Thomas, to approve the format as presented. All Ayes. Format will be distributed to all Athletic Directors and placed on the website.
· Wrestling (Jay Starnes): Wrestling Chairperson, Jay Starnes, explained that the Wrestling Committee would be meeting with the new director of the Kingston Armory in the near future in order to finalize the arrangements for the 2015 District II Wrestling Championships. More information will be forthcoming.
· Awards (Bill Schoen): Bill informed the Fall Sports’ Chairpersons that the Fall District Championship plaques and medals are now available.
· Sportsmanship (Frank Galicki): Member school Principals and Athletic Directors are reminded to send their completed PIAA ejection reports back to the designated Sports’ Chairperson and the District II Chairperson.
ITEM 6 Chairman Majikes discussed the recently conducted Subregional meeting with Districts IV and XI held at Smugglers’ Cove Restaurant in Tannersville. The details for the upcoming subregional AAAA Football Championships were discussed and included in the football format packet distributed to member schools.
ITEM 7 Chairman Majikes informed the committee that he had contacted a number of member schools regarding a fall Girls’ Fast Pitch Softball League being conducted in the District. He cautioned member schools that they are to have no affiliation with the league on a school basis including the use of the school name and school equipment. Teams are allowed to use school uniforms with the permission of the principal.

ITEM 10 Chairman Majikes informed the committee that Summit Academy, a Junior-Senior High School located in Clarks Summit, was in the process of making application for membership to the PIAA in both Junior High and Senior High.
ITEM 11 The Committee reviewed the applications that were submitted for the vacant position created by the retirement of Mike Ognosky. Mike will be remaining on the committee as a non-voting member and continue to serve as the District II Secretary. Following the review of applications and discussion, a motion was made by Al Holtzer, seconded by Joe Farrell, to appoint Ron Collins, North Pocono High School Principal, to the District II Committee. All Ayes
ITEM 12 Chairman Majikes provided committee members present with a copy of the 2014-2015 PIAA Calendar.
ITEM 13 A motion was made by Bill King, seconded by Joe Farrell, to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes
